In the wake of my father’s death I continue to crochet. What Comforts Me (2018-2020) is a series of works that uses the act of crocheting as a tool for healing meditation. The crochet “yarn” is made from cut up clothing that once belonged to myself or loved ones. The result is a heavy fabric that I use as a tactile object while I attempt to soothe what feels inconsolable.
